February 9-11

Happy long weekend and Valentine's Day weekend to those who celebrate!

Here were the highlights from this week.

MATH - Students are reviewing multi-digit multiplication and division from grade 4 (345 x 2 and 982 / 2). This is in preparation for 2 x 2 (and 3) digit multiplication and divisibility rules for grade 5. Check out all of the vertical spaces that we are allowed to write on for practice (windows and whiteboard walls).

SOCIAL STUDIES - We started learning about innovations from the different ancient civilizations. We look forward to learning about the different government and social systems that existed in some of the ancient civilizations in preparation for a group research and presentation project.

P.E. We have been super engaged in the Olympics! Mr. Newton has put together some fabulous relay races resembling many of the Olympic sports.

BUDDIES We surprised our buddies by making them surprise Valentine's Day cards. Shhhh, the grade 2s still don't know that it was us.

COMMUNITY GAMES On Wednesday, we celebrated the week and all of our hard work with some board games and classroom community time.
